Because the average Dvd is between 5-7 Gb, and I honestly don't have the space to store an Iso of every disk I play. Lordsmurf recommended ripping the dvd, but I have been unable to do this. For me it turned out to be a codec issue. They won't have the correct data they will read as all zeroes but that often doesn't seem to matter as long as they're readable. Having this problem already more then 3 months. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface. And then you can use the video for most of the devices.
